RFiD Discovery launches new range of RFID supply chain portals
RFiD Discovery, a leading provider of passive and active RFID, RTLS tracking and automation solutions, is delighted to introduce a new range of RFID portals designed to track assets, inventory, and people in the supply chain to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Consisting of four different models, the new range of portals will be officially launched at IntraLogisteX, where visitors will be able to watch live demonstrations of two of the new portals.
The passive RFID portals have been designed by a team of RFiD Discovery’s in-house engineers with intralogistics in mind. Based on many years of experience providing successful RFID implementations across various industry sectors, the new portals are built to maximise throughput and ensure highest data accuracy as part of any automated tracking solution.
RFiD Discovery's portals are manufactured in the UK and can be custom branded to requirements, making them ideal for end users as well as system integrators. Provided complete with a choice of RFID readers and antennas, direction sensing technologies and in-built lighting solutions, these practical portals fit seamlessly into new or existing automation installations.
Customers can choose between different smart RFID readers to suit requirements, complete with on-board processing capability to eliminate the need for additional hardware. All can be supplied together with RFiD Discovery’s powerful software or used to connect to third-party systems. Network connectivity comes via CAT5e/CAT6 cabling, Wi-Fi or 4G.
RFiD Discovery solutions are designed to be completely flexible and range from supplying RFID portals, tags, labels, or label printers to providing completely integrated track and trace systems.
The different portals in the new range cover a broad spectrum of applications across multiple intralogistics market sectors:
Typically placed in a dual column format across a distribution centre access road, the rugged weather-proof Outdoor Supply Chain RFID Portal contains powerful readers to capture information from RFID tagged goods and assets on passing single and double articulated curtain-sided vehicles.
With up to 1,000 reads per second, the space saving dual direction-sensing Slimline Indoor RFID portal and the Overhead RFID Portal are ideal for automatic shipping and receiving as well as asset tracking at internal dock doors or other entry and exit points, recording the arrival or departure of tagged assets, goods, or parts.
Being able to scan up to 10,000 items per hour, the Conveyor RFID portal offers a powered tunnel solution for automated UHF RFID scanning of stock, parts, and assets at receiving, despatch stations and dock doors. It is ideal for shipping verification thanks to an integrated weigh cell and is designed with mobility and portability foremost in mind.
Arron Duddin, Smart Solutions Director, RFiD Discovery, says:
“I am incredibly proud to be able to bring this state-of-the-art range of RFID portals to the market. It has been carefully designed and built using our many years of experience in delivering successful RFID implementations across a wide range of industries.
“With our modular build programme and semi-automated production lines in place at our fabrications sites in the UK, our installation teams are already busy on customer sites installing the new portals and delivering the rapid ROI demanded in the increasingly competitive intralogistics and supply chain market.”
