James joined EVA England in April 2022, becoming its first chief executive. Prior to that, James led the work of the Cabinet Office on the UK’s COP26 transport policy. He helped build the UK Electric Fleets Coalition representing the UK’s biggest fleet owners, campaigning on the ZEV Mandate and ICE phase out dates. As director of policy and communications for the renewables trade body the Renewable Energy Association, James worked with EV charging companies and manufacturers, setting up the EV Members Forum and starting the All-Party Parliamentary Group on EVs.
